Good Morning Baby!

This morning I was still trying to get ready and load up the car before school/work when Blake woke up in his crib and started fussing.  So I told Abby if she wanted to go in there and tell him we know he's awake, she can.  Her response was "I'm going in" and off she ran.

I grabbed the video monitor to see what she was going to do and my heart melted!! She walked in saying "Good Morning Baby! Did you have a good nap?".  And he started BEAMING.  The biggest, cutest, sweetest smiles at her.  Then she turned on the light and patted his head through the crib railings.  About this time I decided to grab my phone to try and get a video without her knowing.  She had gone and got her step stool so that she could reach all the way in the crib. :)

And this is what I got.  She loves him so much!!!!  You can hear her saying "Come over here so I can hold you like a baby!".  So, so cute!!

6 Months Old!

HALF A YEAR!

Happy 6 months sweet boy.  You are growing like a weed!

Blake's current favorite foods are sweet potato and carrots.  And his current favorite pastime is what we like to call "snow plowing".  He's got so much lower body strength, but not as much upper so he basically just scoots across the floor on his face, bottom up.  And it's awesome.

Here are pictures from our photo shoot!

(Ignore the skid mark on Abby's face, she had a run in with the play kitchen at school...and the kitchen won)

"There's that cat again"

"I think I can almost reach it"

"So close!"

Food!

Blake's doctor likes us to wait until the 6 month appointment before they give us the go-ahead to start solids.  But Blake has shown so much interest in food lately, that we decided that waiting is just silly...so we just went for it.  We tried some purees first to see how he'd do.  He chowed down the sweet potatoes like a champ!  Since then I've tried several other things some of which he hasn't cared much for (apples, oatmeal).   So I took a banana tonight and just mushed it up some (it was still pretty thick) since he didn't seem to bothered by textures...and he ate half the banana!  I couldn't mush it fast enough for him, so I got yelled at several times during his snack.  It's a bit overwhelming because Abby just never got into food and could really care less to eat.  Crazy that we are on kid #2, but I feel so new at this!  I really, really hope this is a good sign and that he will be eating good, healthy food very soon!

Here is a video of the banana-crazy kid!

Cuties

Abby asked me on July 4th if we could go to the "coffee place".
And who am I to deny her of that. :)  I've trained her well!

Good Morning!

er, bad hair day?
