Learning

Since Abby has been in her new Kindergarten class, Matt and I swear she's tripled her intelligence!  :)  She comes home every day with something new she has learned and she amazes me all the time.  I love watching her on the school video cameras when they are doing "circle time".  During this time the teacher is teaching and the kids are sitting on the floor.  Abby is the youngest by far in her class...but she is the one that sits FRONT and CENTER watching the teacher!  I often see her sitting on one knee so that she can easily look around kids if they get in her way...that girl is learning and doesn't want anything to stand in between her and the teacher!  Most of the other kids are not even paying attention, some are laying down, some are grabbing toys off the shelf even though they aren't supposed to.  But not my girl.   I sure hope she stays this eager!

This morning I grabbed this video of her in the car singing her new "Days of the Week Song".  She is so interested in time/days/months/years right now.

Watch out world - here he comes!

And he's off!!

Sea World Fun!

Things just aren't as easy as they used to be before kids... :)

We woke up on Sunday to cooler weather and decided spontaneously to pack up the kids and head to Sea World.  Which all sounds great, right?

So we start the drive and about halfway there Abby of course has to go potty.  So we decide to just pull over and let her use the travel potty we have in the car to make it quick and get back on the road.  Usually this is a no fail plan but this time her skirt decided to land completely in the potty when she pulled it down...and it was nice and soaked when she finished.  Awesome.  So as I'm "washing" her skirt Matt decides to be proactive and clean the car and get rid of the trash we had laying around.    I happen to mention to him that he should go buy some hand sanitizer in the gas station now so he looks for the cash we just got out of the machine, only to realize he'd just thrown $100 in the gas station trash can!!!  Good thing he was buying that sanitizer...he needed it after digging in the trash can. :)

Finally back on the road and getting close to Sea World the air pressure warning light comes on in the car.  Strange but we didn't think much other than that a tire must be getting low.  So we get to Sea World, check tires and all looks good thankfully and off we go.

Abby and I got to do the new dolphin exhibit called "Dolphin Touch" where instead of buying fish to feed the dolphins like they've always done, you now take turns getting to touch them and then feed them a fish.  She loved her dolphin "Neelee"!  We ended up not getting the photos of it, but I did get these cute ones of Blake and her watching the dolphins play.  Both of them loved it!

We then went to see Shamu, another of her favorites.  Since it's end of season they mainly just did a lot of jumping and swimming and splashing which was actually really fun to watch.

It ended up being a really nice day, the weather couldn't have been more perfect and Blake was such a trooper.

Then it was time to leave...and this is what we come out to... *sigh*

Daddy to the rescue!

Thankfully I was able to quickly locate a Firestone Tire using my iPhone that was 4 miles away, so off we went hoping it would be a quick and easy fix.  It was, but still took them almost 2 hours!!!  Not exactly how we wanted to end our fun day, but Abby and Blake were awesome at the tire place and even though they were tired and ready to be home, both of them just took it in stride and played the whole time.

We will try again soon to go back since the weather is so much nicer...hopefully it will be an easier time.

Happy 8 Months Big Guy!

My guy is 8 months old today!!!  He's *just* on the verge of crawling and quite vocal about the fact that he'd much rather be mobile. :)

He's also eating pretty much anything that comes his way (even things I'm pretty sure his doctor wouldn't be to fond of, haha).

Abby is also getting excited about having a permanent playmate and is interacting with him more and more...and it's so cute.

Happy 8 Months Blake!
