Circus!

This post is late coming, but back in August we took Abby to the Ringling Bros. Circus when it came to Austin.  She loved it!

Though she's going through the "everything is loud stage" so we spent most of the time doing this:

And of course, her favorite was the elephants!

It's been years since we've been to a circus, but it really was a lot of fun.  Hope we get to go again next year!

Football?

The past two nights (ever since the UT game on Saturday), Abby has been asking to watch football.  It comes out of nowhere.

Here was our conversation tonight as we were playing in the living room.

Me: Abby, look on TV it's dancers (Miss Universe Pageant is on)
Abby:  Football
Me: See the pretty costumes
Abby: No, football
Me: But look at the dancers!
Abby: NO, NO, NO, NO FOOTBALL
Me: *changes channel to Monday Night Football*
Abby: *huge smile and a giggle*

First day of school!

This Monday Abby started her first day in Room 8!  Her teacher, Ms Jo is actually our neighbor and the reason we found the daycare we are at.  She already loves her and was ready to move to the toddler room.  It's bigger, has a huge playground with slides and all sorts of toys.  She was so good the first day - I thought for sure she would protest...but instead I got a "bye bye" and she ran off to play.  Abby played and laughed, Mommy cried (in my car where she couldn't see of course!).  She's growing up so fast.

Middlebury

This past week we flew to Middlebury to visit the Heign side of our family.  It was my first flight alone with Abby and she did so good for me!  Heather met us in Detroit on the way there, and was able to fly to Atlanta with us on the way back...but the rest of the flights were just me and her. :)

She had a BLAST and Matt was afraid she wouldn't want to come home!  I loved seeing everyone again and wish we could go more than once a year.  We got to see Abby's two 2nd cousins as well.  I just wished we lived a little closer...or maybe there was a easier flight to get there!

Dallas Aquarium

At the end of July we drove up to Dallas to celebrate mine and my Mom's birthdays.  We decided to do something a little different and went to the Dallas Aquarium!  We had a big group: Me, Matt, Abby, Heather, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Dick, Teri, Chris, Casey and Olivia!  The aquarium is so nice and such a fun place to go on a super hot summer day!

Haircut!

We decided to take Abby to get her haircut professionally to try and shape up the back and cut some bangs.  While they didn't do much, I think it's much cleaner looking now.

The place we took her to is really cute.  Called Pigtails & Crewcuts - it was filled with toys, cute chairs, and suckers...which kept Abby relatively happy.  We were worried for nothing!

Round and Round!

I love watching the daycare video while working!  Today I got to see all the kiddos holding hands and going "round and round" in a circle.  I wish I could just play all day!

SeaWorld and San Antonio

Matt and I decided we need to take a little family weekend vacation over the 4th of July holiday.  So we invited my family along as well, and all went down to SeaWorld San Antonio, then spent a night at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa (which is amazing!).

This was Abby's first hotel stay and she rocked it!  She was so happy to do whatever we wanted to do and was a trouper even though it was over 100 degrees each day!
