Stacking!

Abby has always loved her stacking toy, but here lately she's really working on putting it back together...not just pulling it apart.  And she claps and gets so proud of herself when she's done.  It's so cute!!

Here is her doing it all by herself.  We don't tell her that she doesn't quite have the order figured out yet. :)

And here is her Daddy helping her get them in the right place.

The Essenhaus

While we are bummed we only got breakfast and didn't have time for dinner at the Essenhaus in Middlebury, we were still excited to capture this picture.

Yes - this really is an Amish buggy.  When we were growing up and visiting Grandma and Grandpa Heign, my sister and I ALWAYS wanted to sit in the buggy booth.  People wait for hours to sit in it.  I hope Abby wants to some day too!

10 Months Old!

Our sweet girl is 10 months old today.  She's quickly developing her little personality (little stinker) and learning more and more new things every day.  Seems like each week brings on a new challenge for her.  This month she's still working on standing and she mimics sounds we make at her.  She has also developed a "love" for her stuffed Dalmatian dog.   Her appetite is increasing and she's taking in much more solid foods - though we can't seem to get her past the purees just yet.  Table food is good - but only in small quantities it seems.

It seems as though each month's photo shoot is getting harder and harder to get her to concentrate!  She's just so busy and has no time to pose.   Enjoy!

Meet Pepper Dot

Abby has fallen 100% head over heels in love with this stuffed Dalmatian dog from IKEA.   We have no idea her fascination with him.  Maybe it's the black/white color, maybe it's the size, we have no idea.   But here lately, that guy comes everywhere with us.  And if you try to move him out of her arms (to strap her in the car seat, or change her clothes, or feed her dinner) she will let you know...very loudly...how displeased she is with that.

DO.NOT.TAKE.THE.DOG.FROM.MISS.ABBY.  She *hearts* him.

We gave him the name Pepper Dot after reading one of her 101 Dalmatian books.  The main puppy character in the book is named Pepper so I suggested we name him Pepper also.  And Matt suggested we call him Polka Dot.  So from that - Pepper Dot was formed.

This is Pepper Dot.

This past weekend we went to IKEA to get a couple more of these dogs so that we can keep one at daycare, one at home, and one in the wash (it's so much easier this way).  And when we walked up to the huge bin of these dogs - she went NUTS.  She started squawking and squealing she was so excited.  There were probably 200 Pepper Dots in that bin.

She loves this dog.

Thank you Nana and Papa Guggenheim for giving Abby the original Pepper Dot.

Just a swinging...

We have a great park in our community and it's so close to our house that we can easily walk there.  This weekend we went a couple times and as you can see - Abby LOVES to swing!  I told Matt we need to get one for our house. :)

If only she could do this the whole flight...

On the flight to Indiana we brought our car seat on board, strapped her in, and she slept 1.5 hours of the 2 hour flight.

Then on the way back, about half way into the flight she finally gave in.  Can this really be comfortable?

But for all the other times during the flight - she's a MANIAC!  My sister can attest as she was the lucky one to fly on the same flight with us home.  Abby is all.over.the.place.  Crazy baby.  But at least she doesn't cry...!

Boat ride!

This past weekend we traveled to Middlebury to see my Grandma and the rest of the family on my Dad's side.  Unfortunately, the weekend was cut short due to some mishaps by American Airlines...but we had fun nonetheless.  I wish we had more time and could have spent the whole week there.  As soon as I get pictures uploaded, I'll keep posting them.

Abby took her first boat ride while visiting her Great Aunt Becky and Uncle Jeff in Union, MI.  She LOVED it.  I think she would have stayed on that boat for hours if we let her.

uh, standing?

Abby's newest trick over the past week or so has been practicing standing.  She really likes to pick up large toys while trying to practice as well, but I never have the camera ready to get those.  But here are a couple little videos I was able to get last night!

Airplanes!

Abby took her first flight this weekend.  It was only to Dallas...but hey, it was a flight!

She was so good - very busy - but so good.  She loved to watch out the window, and sit in her seat like a big girl.  I was so proud of her.  And I was also proud of her Mommy and Daddy in that we used total teamwork to making the flight as simple and easy as we could and had no major catastrophes.  Even though we had suitcases, diaper bags, strollers, car seat, baby, etc etc.

Waiting in line to board, checking out the cool blue planes.

Sitting in a seat - such a big girl.

Flying is soooo cool.

And we were only gone for 1 night?! :)
