Summer Fun

Abby is loving our Country Club pool already!  I have a feeling we will be there a lot this summer.  She's gotten so brave and just jumps right in!!  I tried to get some videos of her funny little water flips, and how she gets on her hands and basically "walks" around with her body floating (it's hysterical).  But every time I got the camera out she didn't do her best moves.  Oh well - we have all summer. :)

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a really great Memorial Day weekend this year!  We left Austin on Saturday morning and drove to Ennis and the National Polka Festival. :)  Ate lunch with my family, napped, visited the cemetery to see Grandma, walked around the booths at Polka Fest, went swimming & grilled steaks for dinner!

On Sunday Abby got to see her cousin Sydney in Dallas.  She didn't mind her, but definitely minded when Daddy held her.  It was funny to see her jealous side!

Then Saturday afternoon we drove up to Lake Lewisville where Chris has his boat and spent the afternoon there eating lunch, feeding the fish, riding the boat.  We had been practicing all week having Abby wear a life jacket to get her ready for it, and she did so good!  We were all pleasantly surprised that she kept it on for that long!

Here are a few shots of the weekend, I will update more when I get them off my camera!

There was a band out at Dinghy's restaurant

Round Rock Express!

A couple weeks ago my company took us all to a Round Rock Express baseball game and rented out the pool area.  I didn't bring Abby's suit because I thought for sure she'd wouldn't want to swim...

And I was wrong.  She loves the water and I know better!  She started with a hand in the fountain, then a foot, then Daddy's holding her in...then we just gave in and let her go all the way and she had a blast!

Pecan Street Festival

Today was the annual Pecan Street Festival over Mother's Day weekend.  We loaded up Abby and headed downtown.  It was nice in the morning, but soon it got very hot and we were all sweating!  But it was still fun!

She got to see so many people, and dogs, and things for sale....that after about 10 minutes in the car heading home, she was out cold. :)  Big morning for a little girl!

(that is a cheez-it in her hand, she fell asleep while eating them!)

Easter

Easter weekend was fun this year!  To quickly re-cap....

-Grandpa Heign and Aunt Heather came down for the weekend.  We all went to the Twin Creeks Eggstravaganza and watched Abby find her "lone" egg.  It was a bit overwhelming for a 17-month old to go up against 3 and 4 year olds...but she held her own and got that egg.

-Our neighbors 17-year old daughter thought it was a great day to sunbathe in thong panties in her backyard which is clearly visible from OUR backyard...where we grilled out for lunch.

-Shelby got sick and threw up.  Twice.

-Heather set off the house alarm, which prompted the police to come, which got us another false alarm violation. :)

It was a great weekend!!

And here are pictures!

She loves sunglasses!

Windy??

Train ride...well, all 2 minutes of it
before she got upset and we ended up getting off

Easter chocolate from Great Aunt Teri....ymmmmm

Meow

She loves her kitty.

Random pictures!

This was Matt's bear when he was a kid,
now Abby uses it to sit in while watching Daddy in the yard.

Pots aren't just for cooking...

Austin Zoo

On Saturday we decided to go to the Austin Zoo!  It's not like the Dallas or Ft. Worth Zoo...it's very small, and it's an animal rescue zoo, but still really fun for little kids.  And Abby of course loved it!

In true Guggenheim fashion, we forgot our camera.  I did, however, get a few pictures on our iPhones.  We had such a good day seeing all the animals, then going over to the Hill Country Galleria to walk around and have happy hour at Iron Cactus.  And Abby had a blast throwing everything in her reach on the ground - crayons, french fries, sugar packets, chips, Cherrios....*sigh*

Animal Sounds

Abby knows so many animal sounds it blows my mind.  Her little brain is like a sponge, tell her something once and she doesn't forget it.  I tried several times over the last few weeks to get a good video of her going through each sound, but she gets really camera shy and it's next to impossible.  The best times I get from her are on our drive home from school...she loves to practice.

Her most favorite sound by far is the cat.  She has mastered the "meow" sound and crawls on the floor after the cat "meowing" every day.  Just mention the word cat, and she will meow and meow.

Here is the best video I got of her...hopefully I'll get something better soon.

Spicegirl

Abby's teacher at school brings different things from her home up to class any given week.  And the times when she brings empty spice jars for the kids to smell...Abby is first in line!  I don't know what it is about spices, but she loves smelling them.

I shot this video a few days ago after I picked her up from school.  She just couldn't get enough of them and literally smelled/played with them for 45 minutes!
