For Father's Day this year we went out to lunch on Lake Travis at a new place called Uncle Billy's. Then we drove downtown to see Orion that was making a stop in Austin on it's way to NASA in Florida before we headed over to Austin Children's Museum again. Seems this years Daddy's Day was centered around Abby instead of Matt, but hopefully he still had a good day. :)
We had fun again this weekend swimming in our pool. Abby has decided she loves kick boards, and also the big adult slide!!! We had to remove a crying baby from the pool because she just wanted to go down over and over and over. Which means Mommy or Daddy has to go down over and over and over because she really shouldn't even be on it! I didn't have our camera on us this day, but this is the slide (the large tan one in the background):
Today we decided to get Abby out and have some fun. We went to the Austin Children's Museum to see their new exhibit and Abby was in kid heaven. The second we walked into the place, her entire face lit up with a huge smile and it was as if her brain couldn't think fast enough as to where she was going to start!
We played with ball ramps:
And ball drops:
And the slide:
And even played with food and made a "sandwich":
Even Daddy was having a little fun... :)
Then we went to the pool at our Club where our little girl has become FEARLESS. We were there only a matter of 5 minutes when she decided she wanted to go up the stairs of the kid slide, and to come down the slide head first into the water!!! She's fearless. We did this over and over and over and over. Then she moved on to laying in the water, jumping in the water and she even tripped over her feet and took a plunge all the way under...and it didn't even phase her. She just stood up, spit out the water in her mouth, and kept on going. She's my little fish.
I got Abby some kid-friendly headphones (read: unbreakable, but most important - volume controlled) for the iPad so she can listen to all her favorite apps during our flight to Indiana in August. Since I'll be traveling with her all by myself from Austin to Detroit, I am hoping this gives me some relief!
Abby is loving our Country Club pool already! I have a feeling we will be there a lot this summer. She's gotten so brave and just jumps right in!! I tried to get some videos of her funny little water flips, and how she gets on her hands and basically "walks" around with her body floating (it's hysterical). But every time I got the camera out she didn't do her best moves. Oh well - we have all summer. :)
