Waco mini-vacation

Since we are doing our big Disney World trip this November for Abby's birthday, we decided we'd just do some mini-trips this summer.  Our first one was the "happening" city of Waco, TX!  On Saturday we met Heather and my Dad  there and went to the Dr. Pepper museum and ate Dr. Pepper and Root Beer floats, then on to the Cameron Park Zoo which was actually really nice.    Dad and Heather had to head back to Ennis that night after dinner, so we stayed in a hotel room so we could do more exploring on Sunday which was also Father's Day.

I might have to say, Sunday morning was probably the best part of our whole trip!  Maybe we didn't think that way at first though. :)  Here's how the morning went....

We loaded up the family and went to a local Cafe for a big Father's Day breakfast.  We ordered, got our yummy food and the best mocha's we've had in a long time.  Things were going great....and then...

Blake decided it was nap time, and refused to sleep in his car seat, or take his pacifier, or be soothed in any way actually.  He wanted in his crib.  Period.  So, as we are finishing our meal, he's wailing louder and louder.  Matt's trying to find the waiter so we can just pay and go back to the hotel to put him down (keep in mind he rarely fusses, so this frazzled Matt because we just aren't used to him crying!).  During this time of Matt standing holding Blake, and me packing up our stuff...Abby announces, "I need to go Poop!!".  Matt tells her to hold it because we are leaving for the hotel in a minute.  Her response was "But it's coming out now!".  I rush her to the potty and even from there can hear Blake screaming in the restaurant!  So she finishes up and we go back out, to which she then announces "That was a really big poop, can I have some M&Ms, please"?     That girl has a one track mind!!!

And that is what I like to call a Happy Father's Day!
