Granny and Blake

We often use up all our storage on our iPhone with photos, so about every couple months I have to do a download to get them off so we can keep taking more.  I was cleaning up Matt's photos and found these GEMS from our Indiana vacation this year that I totally forgot about!!  I must have grabbed his phone when I saw this.  Love it!!!

Morning cup of coffee (er, milk) and a donut with Granny!

Peek-a-boo!

So fun!

Sisters...

I have some of the best conversations with Abby at night when she's going to bed.  This is what we discussed last night. :)

Me: Aunt Heather is my sister
Abby: No, she's not your sister anymore!
Me: Why?
Abby: Because you are my Mommy now.
Me: She is still my sister, just like Blake is your brother and will always be your brother.  Even when you become a Mommy.
Abby: *sighs really loudly* I want a sister, I don't want a brother.
Me: *laughing* Well, too bad, you get a brother and he loves you so much.
Abby: I know, you can be my sister now instead of my Mommy!
Me: OK, but who will take care of us.
Abby: Hmm, guess we'll just have to take care of ourselves....and Blake, we have to take care of him to because he's to small and doesn't know what he's doing.

Car and Driver

We are so spoiled with the size of the driveway in this rental, I fear the kids will never want to leave!

This is the game that Papa taught the kids and boy do they love it!

Hide and Seek!

Our nightly (seriously, 7 nights a week!) game of hide and seek is so much more fun with Blake participating now. :)  Go to the blog to see the videos!

Uniforms

If she has to wear uniforms to school...at least she knows how to rock them!

12 Months in a Year!

This girl is a sponge!  She comes home with more and more "songs" and loves to preform them...for herself on video of course. :)

(she's a little stuffy from allergies, and is clearly worried about how her hair looks on camera..haha)

Pledge

Abby is really enjoying her new class and has come home with all sorts of new things she's learned.  This is a Christian based school, so not only do they say a prayer before each meal (unheard of around here!) they also say the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of the day.

She is so smart and I am so proud of her every single day!!!

She was holding my phone and video-taped herself on the way home from school today.  See video here:

New school, new house, new everything!

We've had a crazy week!  We made the decision to keep our house and lease it out starting Sept 1.  However, the house we are building won't be ready until November...so we moved into a vacation rental this weekend and started the kids in their new school (they will continue in this school when we move to our real house).

Needless to say, it's been a whirlwind. But the kids are handling it like it's no big deal.  Both took right to their new rooms and I think they might be a little spoiled here at our rental house since it's got a nice pool in the backyard. :)  Abby comes home and immediately puts on her swimsuit every day now!

I forgot, of course, to take their photo on the first day of school (Mom of the year right here!) but nothing wrong with 2nd and 3rd day photos!

Fun with Aunt Heather in the pool!

Kid vs. Mommy?

Conversation today on the way to school...

Abby: I don't want to be a kid
Me: What?  Why not?  All you have to worry about is playing right now and having fun.
Abby: I don't want to go to bed first.  I want to stay up like you do and watch TV.  (pause to think) Let's pretend you are the kid and I'm the Mommy and I'm driving us to school.
Me: OK, but don't forget to make breakfast, and pack the bags, and get my clothes changed, and change Blake's diapers and get him dressed, and brush hair/teeth, and get everyone hooked in the car seats.
Abby: (thinking quietly)  That's a lot of stuff to do.
Me: Yes, but it's OK because I love you guys and you are worth it!
Abby:  (while giggling) You know, if you don't want to have babies then you shouldn't get married.

Her little 4 year old brain is amazing!  I'm pretty sure she thinks having kids is far to much work and therefore will never want them, haha.

Indiana 2014

We had such a fun time in Indiana this year!  I think we all went through a little "let down" after coming back home to 100 degree heat and our quite little house!!

Abby and Blake were SO SPOILED the whole trip!  So much so that about every couple days now Abby will get a little weepy and say "I want to go back to Granny's house now, right now!".

Between the awesome weather, the fair (rides! games! prizes!), the bounce house, swimming, catching lightening bugs, playing with glow sticks and sparklers, seeing a real bride get married, riding in a horse and carriage, getting her hair done at a salon and playing with her cousins (her most favorite part I think) I'm pretty sure this was the best vacation our kids have ever had!!  And we can't wait to come back.

I had so many great photos that I couldn't pick just a few, so here is an album!  Make sure to go to the blog to see them all.
